June Bloom is a new family tradition that we started today! Will you join us this month and participate in June Bloom with our family?

June GLOOM as defined in Wikipedia is a southern California term for a weather pattern that results in cloudy, overcast skies with cool temperatures during the late spring and early summer, most commonly in the month of June. The overcast skies often are accompanied by fog and drizzle, though usually not rain.

June BLOOM as defined by the Smith family is a daily commitment to acknowledge the blessings in our lives. It is a daily pattern of showing gratitude which will results in happiness, contentment and a spirit of thankfulness. June Bloom is a month of expectancy, a forecast of clear skies, prosperity and overall well being.

Today the girls covered a mason jar with a sign that says, June Bloom. Everyday we will write on a piece of paper what we’re thankful for, share it with each other and place it inside the jar. A thankful heart is often accompanied by joy, peace, kindness and a clear perspective and awareness that God is merciful and sovereign, always present.

Our family has had a challenging year and these thank you notes will be a constant reminder to “Be present in all things and thankful for all things,” Dr. Maya Angelou. They are also seeds of faith that we’re planting and believing God for supernatural things, knowing that He hears our cries, and yet we are grateful.

I’ll be on Facebook and tweeting #JuneBloomBlessings. You can follow me @shalenasmith and share with me what you’re thankful for by using the same hashtag.

I pray that June is a month of blooming blessings for you!!!

Love,

Shalena
