Spring Bedroom Refresh

Spring has sprung! We know that during this season the flowers begin to bloom, the days get longer and the weather gets warmer. But did you know that spring is a great time to give your bedroom the refresh it needs after a cold winter? (Okay, maybe it’s not THAT cold in LA lol).

Our bedrooms are where we spend most of our time. Whether it be after a long day at work, or a day out with the kids, just thinking of coming into my bedroom makes me feel relaxed!

Giving your room a refresher is simple, cost effective and can make a world of difference. Here are a few easy to do— spring inspired changes that can help create a relaxing and inviting spring bedroom.

First things first, let’s declutter. For example, if you looked at your nightstands right now, are there papers and random stuff stacked on top? Is there an accent chair or bench that has a pile of clothes on it? I know I can’t be the only one guilty of that lol.

Clutter causes stress, and that’s the last thing we want our bedrooms to be! Decluttering our rooms do more than just make a space look pretty and organized, it is also so important for our mental health!

Secondly, let’s lighten up the room. Open up those curtains or blinds, and let that natural sunlight stream in! Some of you may prefer blackout curtains, but for those of you who may have heavy or dark linen drapes, try replacing them with a lighter material of ivory or natural linen curtains.  As a result, it will make your room look lighter and brighter.

Thirdly, let’s talk bedding. Changing out your bedding is a big way to bring refreshment into your bedroom. So if you have a heavy duvet, consider switching it out for one that is a mid-weight layer. It helps keep you cool during those warmer nights. Try to chose lighter fabrics, colors and textures for your bedding and pillows as well. You could also add a throw blanket to the end of your bed to bring in a pop of spring color!

Last but certainly not least, bring the nature inside. I love real flowers, (but realistically because of my allergies) I like to bring in faux blooms in our bedroom. This addition is small but impactful because flowers and plants add lots of spring beauty to a space! Another simple idea is adding some botanical framed prints to any empty walls in your bedroom.

Overall, a simple spring refresh is easy to achieve with just a few changes and additions. Light colored bedding and curtains, spring florals and a new throw blanket make all the difference. I hope that you can refresh your bedroom this spring and have it become a place of quiet and solace that is much needed in daily life.
